Welcome! I am delighted that you have expressed an interest in Katsuta Secondary School. Our vibrant and ambitious community strives to provide all students with a range of exciting and innovative opportunities that lead them to discover their true potential. 
 
Katsuta is an institution where a culture of sharing knowledge, expertise, and opinion is nurtured to ensure that academic success is possible for all. Our staff and faculty continuously work together with our community to create an environment where students can achieve a life filled with dreams and challenges.
 
We seek to develop the best of our students, staff, and families within a vibrant community—one which works together with our neighbors to enhance our region and thoughtfully responds to the changing wants and needs of our global society. 
 
Our school has just opened in April 2021 as the first public secondary school in the Hitachinaka-Mito-Central area. Our staff always welcomes you and we hope you to see you soon.

Aims and Values
 
Our aim at Katsuta is to help every student successfully fill the pages of their life story. Students are encouraged to cultivate their strengths and talents throughout their educational journey. 
 
Our campus in central Hitachinaka City allows for students to learn in a peaceful and refreshing environment with equal access to the local metropolitan area and calming countryside. We pride ourselves on creating a supportive environment where students can develop physically and mentally into well-rounded global citizens. 
 
Through our global competence program, students foster a sense of leadership and citizenship that will follow them into adulthood. Students have multiple avenues to enhance their language education, including short and long-term study abroad opportunities, a choice of second foreign language acquisition, and digital literacy programs. Options for online classes in collaboration with various research institutions and other schools in Japan are also available.
 
Students are guaranteed a high-quality academic experience that will act as their first step on the way to success. At Katsuta Secondary School, we work diligently to ensure all students are provided an education that leads to a bright future.
